Each month, the City of Shreveport chooses a student to be their "Student Mayor for a Day" and this month, Mayor Adrian Perkins selected our very own 6th grader, Scotlyn Knight as Mayor for a Day in the month of May. Here is what Mayor Perkins said:
"Let me introduce you to Scotlynn Knight. She is our Student Mayor for the month. Mayor Knight is a sixth-grader at Pine Grove Elementary School. She's a strong student and a great communicator. She aspires to be either a book publisher or a nurse. When I asked her what she wanted to do as Mayor she told me she wanted to help some of our most vulnerable population. She wanted to see that they got showers, meals, and shelter. Sounds like she's off to a great start!"
